Meet Our Stars

Owen Vaccaro (Marco)     |     Anthony Patellis (Grandpa)

Meet Anthony Patellis. You might know Anthony from his incredible work in Gotham or The Sopranos or the long-running hit Tony n' Tina's Wedding. He lives in New York, with his wife, who he married one day before he shot Team Marco. Check out all of Anthony's work.

How did you get involved with the movie? Late on a gorgeous spring day, 2018, heading out to a friend's apartment in Brooklyn for dinner, I got a call from my agent, for a last-minute audition for a project called, "Team Marco." I quickly headed to the audition, thinking it would be a quick in-and-out. Nearly two hours later, I was finally back on my way to dinner.

How was shooting Team Marco? Shooting was HOT, in all manners of the word — which included many 90+ degree days on Staten Island! Boro Five operates like a close-knit family. And they extend that quality to every person working on their behalf. Julio ran his set with steady nerves and keen eyes. He gave me room to move comfortably in my character and the courage to bring forth the best I had to offer.

How was working with Owen? From the very first scene, on our first day of filming, I knew I was going to have to bring my A-game, if I was going to succeed next to Owen. We hit it off like best of friends for four solid weeks. I think our chemistry shows through in the film. I couldn't have asked for a better co-star.

What do you and your character have in common? Nonno (Grandpa) and I share an inner passion and zest for life! We share a love for family. And we share a disdain for insincerity, irresponsibility, and dishonesty in people. What really connected me to the material was the mystery of the deep divide that exists today between generations — a divide that has increased ten-fold, from when I was a child, looking up to my elders with respect and for guidance. Team Marco dives into the center of this chasm with heart, intelligence, and a lack of judgement, leaving its audience to decide for themselves.

What is the message of the film? Love.
